Research Interests

Network traffic pacing: In this project, we aim to develop a network infrastructure with packet-pacing function. We believe appropriately pacing network traffic can bring significant benefits to ISP¡¯s and end users by reducing network congestion and improving network performance. Further, by pacing packets, the shaped network traffic will make it possible to widely deploy optical routers which are usually equipped with a small amount of buffer size.

Load-balancing switch design: In this project, we propose a novel switch design, called three-stage load-balancing switch. By combining input load-balancing with output load-balancing, we successfully solve the disorder problem, which is inherent to the previous versions of load-balancing switchs, at achievable costs, including memory speed and switching fabric bandwidth.
